With face to face servicing currently on hold, the Roxby Community Library is taking programs and activities online. The virtual program plan currently includes; a 9.30am Toddler Storytime session on Tuesdays, a 9.30am Baby Bounce Session on Wednesdays and a 3.30pm Think It Make It Do It session on Thursdays.

To join in jump onto the new @RoxbyCommunityLibrary Facebook page, give them a like, then tune in at the scheduled times and get your kids involved.

The community team, which incorporates the library and community youth centre, are also working on a proposal for more online based services. While the details of this are not yet confirmed, the team are planning and investigating ways to include some school holiday activities and still offer borrowing of library resources.

Information listed below shares the usual Roxby Community Library offerings. Please note as of 5pm Wednesday 25 March the Roxby Community Library is now closed until further notice.


The Roxby Downs Community Library is located in the heart of Roxbylink.

As a purpose built library it has ample work, reading, computing and meeting space for the services today’s libraries offer.

Our aim is that the library will fulfil all that the young, vibrant community of Roxby Downs requires from its library space.


Joining the Library

Becoming a Roxby Downs Community Library member is easy and it’s free. Anybody of any age is welcome to join the library.

If you are under 16 years of age you will require a parent/guardian to sign your membership form.

Library Programs and Activities

Think It, Make It, Do It 

Monday and Thursday at 3.30pm

A STEM/Craft program for children 5-10 years old.

$10 per term or $2 per session, limited spaces available, contact the library to book.

Under 10s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Toddler Storytime

Toddler Storytime runs on Tuesdays at 9:30am and includes a combination of singing, dancing, craft time and storytelling for 2-5 year olds.

Research confirms reading to children just 10 minutes each day strengthens literacy, models positive reading behaviour, and builds children’s self-esteem about reading.

Toddler Storytime is a partnership with Strengthening Our Families - Roxby Downs.

Bookings are not required.

English Conversation Group

Wednesday's at 9.30am.

The main purpose of this program is not to teach English but to encourage and support connection and social engagement for multicultural residence who do not speak English as their first language.

Lego Club

This program is to allow children the time to be creative with Lego in any way they see fit. Held each Wednesday during the school term: Preschool aged children - 11am to 12pm and school aged children 3pm to 4pm.

Baby Bounce

Baby Bounce is a half hour early literacy session for babies 0-2years which uses music and rhyme in a fun, interactive and beneficial way for both children and parents. In Term 1 we are holding these session on Wednesday at 10.30am and Thursday at 2.30pm.


Computer Facilities

Laptop Computers are availble for use by the community. Please provide photo ID or present your library membership card at the time of request. Bookings are not required.

Wireless Network

Wireless network is available at Roxby Downs Community Library. The wireless network is open to all registered users of the library and once registered, you are able to use wireless internet at all participating public libraries in South Australia.

One Card Network

Through the one card network, our library members have access to the combined resources of 140 collections of all South Australian Public Libraries. You can request items from the comfort of your own home and receive an email when they are ready to collect from the library.

Scanning is available and is free of charge.

  • Please talk to staff if you wish to use your own paper. Note the above charges will still apply.
