Community Library

 

The Roxby Downs Community Library is located in the heart of Roxbylink.

As a purpose built library it has ample work, reading, computing and meeting space for the services today’s libraries offer.

Our aim is that the library will fulfil all that the young, vibrant community of Roxby Downs requires from its library space.

 

Joining the Library

Becoming a Roxby Downs Community Library member is easy and it’s free. Anybody of any age is welcome to join the library.

If you are under 16 years of age you will require a parent/guardian to sign your membership form.

 

Toddler Storytime

Toddler Storytime runs on Tuesdays and Fridays (repeat session) at 9:30am and includes a combination of singing, dancing, craft time and storytelling.

Research confirms reading to children just 10 minutes each day strengthens literacy, models positive reading behaviour, and builds children’s self-esteem about reading.

Toddler Storytime is a partnership between the Roxby Downs Health Service and the Library.

Bookings are not required.

 

Computer Facilities

Our computers are available for 60 minutes at a time for community use. Please provide photo ID or library membership card at the time of request. Bookings are not required.

 

Wireless Network

Wireless network is available at Roxby Downs Community Library. The wireless network is open to all registered users of the library and once registered, you are able to use wireless internet at all participating public libraries in South Australia.

 

 

 

 One Card Network

Through the one card network, our library members have access to the combined resources of 140 collections of all South Australian Public Libraries. You can request items from the comfort of your own home and receive an email when they are ready to collect from the library.

 

 

Changes to Overdue Fees

As of 16 May 2018, in accordance with the South Australian Public Library Network’s One Card Network, Roxby Downs Community Library customers will be billed for long overdue items. If you do not return a borrowed item by the due date and have not completed a renewal process, you may be required to pay:

• Overdue fines or notice fees
• Replacement costs if the item is still overdue after 28 days from the due date.

PayPal has been set up as the preferred method of payment for billed overdue items.

All items borrowed from the Roxby Downs Community Library from 2017 onwards will be subject to these new fees. You are able to return items borrowed from the Roxby Downs Community Library to ANY public library in South Australia. If you owe $30 or more across the SA Public Library Network, you will not be able to borrow items from any SA public library until you have paid the bill or organised another resolution with the library(s) owed money.

Printing, Copying, Scanning & Faxing

The multifunction centre requires staff assistance to operate. Please see Library Staff in order to access the machine.
