The Community Youth Centre (CYC) was refurbished in March 2016 after an extensive public consultation that included members of all ages within the community and especially focused on what the Youth themselves wanted in a safe, secure and free space for leisure, meetings and events. The CYC is a place for youth between the ages of 10-25yrs and provides a safe space for self-directed activities. Children under the age of 10 require parental or guardian supervision.
The area contains a pool table, air hockey table, Wii & Xbox consoles, and board games amongst other equipment. During school holidays and student free days, the giant outdoor chess pieces is set up as well as cool activities are planned as part of the School holiday program, such as craft, art, cooking, and taco/pizza days are randomly planned for the enjoyment of those who are there at the time. The couches, beanbags, and café seating are available for youth to utilise also. The Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) was instrumental in deciding what was to go into the Youth space and chose furniture to match as such. The YAC plan events throughout the year such as Gaming nights, Themed nights, Pool parties and support Youth Week activities.

The CYC is a youth space predominantly but is available for the greater community, and can be booked outside of the designated youth hours – afterschool drop in (2.45pm to 5pm Monday to Friday), School holidays and student free days. The space is available to be booked by multiple uses, Community groups, Sports Clubs and businesses for events, functions and more. The CYC can be hired out in different sections and the venue can hold up to 80 people and has a full commercial kitchen.
